Ultimate Auto Repair Transmission Services – Automatic and Manual

transmissionWe here at Ultimate Auto Repair have a confession to make: We love servicing transmissions. They can be a bit of a challenge, and we revel in the battle between man and machine. We will maintain your automatic or manual transmissions per the manufacturer’s recommendations, but if you really want to make us happy, let us rebuild your transmission. Well, okay, that probably won’t make you happy, so bring your vehicle in for regular transmission service to avoid that.

Experienced Service

We have years of experience working with transmissions and the state-of-the-art equipment to make the scheduled maintenance a breeze. Generally, you should schedule transmission maintenance every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Manual transmissions can go longer between services than automatic transmissions can. This said manufacturer recommendations and daily driving dictates transmission maintenance. When you bring your vehicle into us, we will

  • Clean and remove grime, rust, and sludge that has built up on all transmission parts
  • Flush and replace your transmission fluid
  • Replace the transmission filter
  • Inspect the pan gasket for leaks and replace if necessary.

If you drive a manual, we’ll inspect the clutch and make any necessary adjustments. Today’s clutches, however, rarely need adjusting. They do, however, need replacement anywhere from 40,000 to 60,000 miles. You can get more life out of your clutch if you keep a couple of things in mind while driving. Don’t ride the clutch as this heats it up and damages it, and keep your left foot on the floor when you aren’t engaging the clutch.

Transmission Repair and Rebuild

If your transmission does fail, we have the certified personnel and quality parts to repair or rebuild it. Signs your transmission is in need of repair or rebuild include gear slippage (your gears change for no reason), grinding gears, rough starts from a stop, rough gear shifts, a delay from the time you press the accelerator to the time the gears engage, transmission fluid leaks, or an illumination of the check engine or transmission light on your dashboard.

Don’t Delay!

Don’t put off a service visit if your vehicle is doing any of the above. The longer you wait for a transmission inspection, the more damage will occur.
